Virtual 5K

Sarah, Alisha, and I met at Crabtree this morning to do a run.  Last night, I wasn't certain that we were going to be able to meet.  The weather folks around here called for snow last night.  They were wrong - thank goodness (Well, technically, they were kinda wrong.  We got about 20 minutes of flurries at noon).

We planned to do 4 miles with 3.1/5K dedicated to the Freeze Your Thorns Off 5K Virtual RaceThe Boring Runner set up the race and got lots of other bloggers to join in on the fun.  We finished our virtual 5K race in 38:15, our best "race" time since starting to run in July.  We tried to back down our pace a little bit, but it seems like we are destined to be in the 12+ minute mile pace - I am not complaining!

Alisha joined us today.  Alisha, Jade, Sarah, and I are going to do the Cooper River Bridge Run in April, so it was nice to put a face with another name.  It was nice to get to know another runner, especially one that didn't mind our slow-ish pace too much.

We saw a ton of ladies from our NCRC running group.  We saw Sruthi, Jody, Beth, Debbie, Jean, Danielle, and a few others.  It is such an encouragement to see that the other ladies are still running.  We are all gonna be kickin' butt by the time we go back to be volunteers for the group that will begin in July!

Nothing else too exciting going on.  I am looking forward to piddling around the house today and not really doing much.  Love to hang out in "knock around" clothes and be a little lazy.
